American Modernism
American Modernism replaced artistic traditions of the past with a spirit of experimentation. The World Wars and Depression were major influences on the formation of modernistic movements that included abstract expressionism, cubism, pop art, color field painting, minimalism, op art, surrealism, photorealism and many other creations of the period.
