Early California
Coming from all parts of the world and captivated with the beauty of the West Coast, the early California artists sought to capture our unique light and atmosphere on canvas. This “new” plein air style came to be known as “California Impressionism.” It flourished during the early teens well into the 1940’s and is still enormously popular today.
