Terelak, John (b1942)
As a young man, John Terelak attended the Vesper School of Art in Boston. Shortly after graduating he was appointed the headmaster of the Gloucester Academy of Fine Arts.
His paintings showcase his mastery of paint, brushwork and color with intricate glazes and wonderful thick impasto.
He has painted all over the world. His favorite locales include the New England coast and countryside, the hills of Vermont, the great harbors of New York, the hustle and bustle of Times Square, and the serenity of the French countryside.
A past President of The New England Watercolor Society, his works have been included in exhibitions at The National Academy of Design, The Boston Museum of Fine Arts, The Springfield Museum, and The Butler Museum, among others.
