Antonio Reverte Oliva was born in 1943 in Murcia, Spain. He captured the countrysides of Costa Brava, Mallorca, ports in Galicia, Albarracín, Barcelona, and Cuenca. Inland and to the south of Barcelona lies the region of Garaff, home to the finest sparkling wines in all of Spain, where Reverte lived for some time and painted the local backcountry.
His style reflects both the early French and Spanish impressionists and the post-impressionist influence of Cezanne and Van Gogh. He expressed himself with bravura brushwork, exquisite color and heavy impasto. During his career, he held a total of 43 exhibitions and today his work resides in private collections in New York, San Francisco, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, Sweden, Germany, the Netherlands, Italy, Denmark, Belgium, France, Andorra, England, Portugal, and Switzerland.
