Venard, Claude (1913-1999)

One of the original members of the Forces Nouvelles artists’ group formed in 1935, Parisian artist, Claude Venard was an exponent of the French mid-century post-cubist movement. His brightly colored, heavy impastoed paintings exhibiting extremely energetic paint movement are widely collected both in Europe and abroad. Cubist Still Life is an exceptional example of his work.
